Happy Easter,

                  As we enter into April this year we enter in the midst of Holy Week. Our final time of reflection in the season of Lent. On Wednesday, we are hosting the Women of the Cross performance from the people of La Juanta UMC. On Maundy Thursday, we reflect on the last supper and how Jesus stooped own to wash his disciples’ feet. This is a behavior we can follow in the example of. We too can gather together for important meals of fellowship and tradition. We too can get dirty serving others. On Good Friday we remember the horror of our sinless Savior sentenced to death for crimes he did not commit. We see the fulfillment of Scripture in Jesus giving up his life so that we may live. Take time this Holy Saturday to sit and reflect on all that God has done for us: as individuals, as community, and with a gracious love that covers the whole world. Then we get to experience Easter together. There are two choices for early morning celebration: At 6:00am gathering to climb Two Buttes together or at 6:30am gather at Old Prowers Bridge. At 8:45 am we will gather at the church for a potluck brunch. Please join us in coming together to eat and celebrate Easter with a meal. Then at 10:00 am we will have a service of worship and celebration for “He has risen; He has risen indeed!”

                  Throughout the month we will continue to celebrate Easter each Sunday. On April 15th, a Wednesday evening United Women in Faith will be hosting our annual Mother Daughter event (tickets available now). On April 18th, In Colorado Springs at Central UMC we will have our Eastern South-Central District Gathering (registration through the conference website).

                  We also have our regular activities. On the first and third Sunday night s we have family game night. Every Sunday, excluding Easter, we have a book study discussing the book Better Ways to Read The Bible. On Wednesday Nights, excluding the 1st and 15th, we have Bible study looking at the book of Revelation.

At the end of the month, we will be preparing for the semiannual rummage sale. If you would like to help move rummage or hang clothes, there will be an opportunity at the end of the month. If you are planning on donating any large items, please bring them the last week of April. This is a fundraiser that helps our women support great causes throughout the year. And all help before, during, and after is appreciated.
