Let me start with some big Thank Yous. Thank you to all the committee that made Mother/Daughter such a success. Thank you for all the work, volunteer hours, and donations that went into making the rummage sale a success. These events happen in regular rotation, but only work when we have dedicated people doing the hard work. So, thank you so so much, you are very appreciated.
It was announced that there will be a new appointment starting July 1st. You still get me. The change is in the configuration of how the churches of the area work together. This is a circuit arrangement that brings more together. I will be primarily serving Lamar and the United Methodist Church of La Junta. Pastor Travis will be primarily serving Wiley and Two Buttes. We will be rotating preaching on the fifth Sunday, so you can get to know Pastor Travis. The first fifth Sunday of this arrangement is in August, so mark that on your calendar as a day you don’t want to miss church. To best facilitate this change, beginning July 5th, worship in Lamar will be at 9:00 am in Lamar. The new Sunday schedule, starting in July, will be 9:00 am worship, 10:00 am fellowship time, and 10:15 am Sunday School. This is starting in July. If you have any questions, please reach out.
In June, there are opportunities to be involved. Annual Conference is happening June 10th-13th in Billings and online. If you would like to represent our church or our district, there are still opportunities, but registration closes soon. Please call for more info or log onto mtnskyumc.org and click the annual conference tab.
Another time to volunteer is with our booth at SECO Pride 2026. This event will be happening in the Enchanted Forrest on June 27th. This is a great opportunity to meet people in the community and reconnect with people you may not have seen in a while.
Coming up in July is VBS. This year, we are inviting children aged 3 (potty trained, please) through entering 5th grade. We need group leaders, storytellers, and people to help with crafts, recreation, and snacks. If you are around July 13-16, this is a great opportunity to help out. Decorating will be happening on July 11th, so if that is in your wheelhouse, it would be great to see you that day.
As we enter this busy season, I hope you continue to feel God’s presence in your life every day. It is a great joy to be able to share the love of God and share in our community more every day. God’s love is present every day, not just when the schedule is calm or everything is going right. In this season, lean on God’s love and Christian community as we live into the fullness of what can be.
