“They praised and gave thanks to the Lord, singing responsively, ‘He is good, his graciousness lasts forever.’”  - Ezra 3:11a

Happy Thankfulness Season,

November is a packed month, and it is easy to get so busy with activities we lose sight of being thankful. Let me encourage you this month to find moments of thankfulness. This does not have to be a huge production but rather a quite practice of noticing God’s goodness in the everyday. This could look like being thankful for sunshine, leaves, or a conversation with a friend. In the midst of busyness taking time to be present in the moment.

This month there are some regularly scheduled weekly, monthly, and annual events. We will continue to come together to worship this month. On November 2nd we will be celebrating All Saints Sunday, a day to remember those who have come before us in our journey of faith. On November 16th we will have our Sunday of giving thanks, singing hymns of thankfulness followed by our Thanksgiving meal after service. On November 23rd we will celebrate Christ the King Sunday, this is the traditional end to the church year where we celebrate that there is more than just this earthly life. On November 30th we will begin our Advent Celebrations and have the hanging of the greens after service.

On November 1st there will be an online gathering of the Mountain Sky Annual Conference to approve the budget for the 2026 fiscal year. This typically happens at Annual Conference in June but due to finance and record keeping challenges was delayed.

On November 15th at 3:00pm will be our annual church conference for the Lamar/Two Buttes Charge. This is a meeting that looks toward the future of our congregation while celebrating this past year of ministry. All church members are entitled to vote and voice at this meeting. We have begun the process of updating/maintaining our membership rolls. If you have updated contact information, or updates to contact information for members that may have moved away please share that information with the church office.

In November we also still have Sunday School and Bible Study weekly. This is a time to join in a small group and learn in faith together. I am so excited that we get to spend the month of November being thankful together.

In Thanks,

Pastor Kristina
